Buttons 2004
Buttons are something so ordinary and part of every day life, that we pay little attention to them, although they vary immeasurably in shape, colour and origin. As a child I would play with grandma's button collection in the old cigar box. When I inherited this box recently it felt like gold to me with its rattling content. Some of the buttons used in my jewelry were taken from granny's cigar box, others were collected or bought in markets and shops and by using traditional goldsmith techniques I just place the buttons on the settings where normally precious stones would rest.
